Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman is set to step into the world of film writer and producer with '99 Songs', this month revealed that director Mani Ratnam was the inspiration behind his new role.
'Mani Ratnam once said to me that you know how to make a movie, it`s like how you make a song. You`ve the introduction, the theme of the song, the tune and then you do the BGM (background music). Rahman also said that his love for stories pushed him in this direction as well.
